Student Member Textbook Stipend
College can be a financial burden, with tuition, room and board, everyday expenses, and textbooks. The Membership Team has created a new SAE Student Textbook Stipend in the amount of $1,000 USD to help you with the cost of textbooks. SAE wants to invest in your academic career, and beyond, to your professional career. And in return, we want to hear how your membership and your involvement in SAE has helped you to reach your academic and professional goals so far.
- Current, paid SAE International Student Member (Not a member? Join now at sae.org/join)
- Undergraduate (freshman through junior) pursing an engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
- 3.0 cumulative college GPA or higher is required (official transcript required)
Selection and Payment
One textbook stipend of $1,000 USD will be awarded each year, dependent upon funding available. This textbook stipend is not renewable.
Application window will be open September 24, 2020 and will be closed on April 16, 2021.
The first 100 eligible applicants will be considered by the SAE Textbook Stipend Committee, made up of industry representatives. The recipient of the textbook stipend will be selected by the SAE Textbook Stipend Committee by July 2021 and notified by no later than early August 2021.
Student recipient will provide original receipts of textbooks, purchased during the current Fall 2021 semester, to the Membership Department in one submission by no later than November 1, 2021, to be reimbursed up to $1,000 USD before the closing of 2021. If the full $1,000 is not reached in the Fall 2021 semester, student recipient will then submit Fall and Spring textbook receipts in one submission by no later than March 1, 2022.
